Our May meet was hit by not only rain but fog, which refused to lift all day, and meant our rideout had to be cancelled for safety reasons.

But many thanks to those who did join us, including the Northern Hotel, Brechin, who provided much-needed hot food!

Our fundraising this month was for the Blood Bikes, and we managed to raise a total of £597.09 thanks to the generosity of those coming to our premises in Brechin, and to those who gave donations to us at Bonfest in Kirriemuir.

And here’s a bit more information about Blood Bikes from Ewan McGregor:

“Blood Bikes Scotland (BBS) is an amazing charity, 100% run by volunteers. They form part of the National Association of Blood Bikes (NABB) and do fantastic work on behalf of NHS Lothian, Fife, Borders, Tayside and Forth Valley.

They provide a free courier service transporting equipment, medication, documentation and blood samples between main hospitals, community hospitals, nursing homes, labs and patients’ home addresses.

No volunteer is paid and they do not receive any NHS or Government funding. They are highly commended for this excellent service to people in their time of need.

I send you my sincere appreciation for all your hard work.”
